The difference between an ordeal and adventure is attitude – Unknown
Thanks for everything you did on the trip for me. I really learned from you. Now, if I can only remember it all… -- Jim Patton, Rochester, NY
The trip for me was awesome , I had no idea what to expect from Cuba 🇨🇺 and loved every bit of it .
Jeremy to you a big thanks for a fantastic trip and for being a great tour leader…what energy and passion you have. You went out of your way wherever possible to help out and stayed so positive and saw the light in everything -- Friedi Arthur, Umhlanga Rocks, South Africa
After concluding a very enjoyable tour of Spain with none other than Mr Jeremy Woodhouse I must turn in my evaluation of the tour. This is my first Phototour with Jeremy. Having been on umpteen photo tours with all kinds of photographers I don't go in with too much expectation. For me the destination decides the trip and its leader.
But Jeremy Woodhouse made the tour simply delicious ! Not having gone on a self drive tour before that held surprises to both Jeremy and me. I had never been driven by the photographer himself before. And Jeremy was in for a shock at the baggage I showed up with.
It is hard to come away from his tours without having some of that energy and enthusiasm rubbing off. His insatiable desire to offer us a wonderful experience, very well explains why so many, particularly women go on his tours. He was like a dear old friend so eager to drive us around and show off the country and reveal its charms and secret photo spots. I could not have planned a better itinerary which was loose and flexible enough to make changes but always guaranteeing Miradors no matter where we went. His constant quest to get a better angle or better vista showed his dedication to his vocation and his clients.
Muchas Gracias Jeremy for showing me Spain in your dare devil style. It was an inspiration to see someone not feeling jaded or bored with what he does for a living. Until next time my friend. Adios -- Usha Peddamathan, TX
It's taken me all this time (three weeks now) to get my head around the Namibia trip, which challenged me in so many wonderful ways, not the least of which was physically. I have gotten enormous mileage out of recounting, with slight exaggeration, for friends and family, who correctly know me as an urban softie, our four nights of bush tenting.
But the greater challenge was the photographic one. I am neither a wildlife nor a landscape photographer by nature, but I got some great shots, one of which won an honorable mention last week in a nature category competition at the St. Louis Camera Club. The trip made me a better photographer.
A couple of things make your tours special: (1) You enjoyment is infectious and (2) You know the territory, having been there before – Susan Thomson, MO
Thanks for another great adventure in Cuba. Well planned, good restaurants and hotels. Thanks for the photo tips and setups along the way — Bob Mandich, CA
I’m not the seasoned traveler like you all, and I don’t have that Travel photographer’s experience as much as most of you. I really learned a lot on this trip. Jeremy , all I can say to you is, THANKS!!! Watching you do your “Thing”, gave me an all new perspective on the different ways to approach the travel photographer's experience — Carl Kravats, CA
I just wanted to write and say thank you for you participation in the recent Indian workshop. You were a delight to travel with and learn from. The workshop was just great from my perspective. I thank you for your expertise and participation in my experience in the workshop – Gary M, WA

I always have the time of my life when I go on Jeremy's trips. He's energetic, fun, willing to do anything, and knowledgeable about photography and the exotic places we visit. His trips are always well-planned…be prepared to have a great time and get wonderful photos! — Gail N, TX
Just returned from a Photo Tour to Socotra with Jeremy Woodhouse and Luka Esenko, and I have to say it was one of the best travel experiences I have had. I have been a professional photographer for over 30 years and I still learned quite a bit of useful information about photography. Jeremy and Luka share their vast knowledge freely, and having two leaders just made it all that much better. They have my highest recommendation. Thanks! – John L, CA
Thank you for being such fun to travel with and so generous with your time. It was a great trip! My people pictures have improved tremendously. Lots of horizontals and most of them in focus – Joyce S, CT
One only has to look at Jeremy’s photographs to get an impression of the type of trips he runs, and the photo opportunities that they present. His more recent bias has been his terrific portraiture and cultural immersion, offering the chance to experience and photograph people in their places. He has an incredible ability to see images from a distance, and somehow make them happen, whether it be in someone’s home, from a hidden balcony, the top of a building, or inside an african hut. If it is possible, Jeremy will work it! He is equally at home with a landscape, and architecture, and will seek out the best light and time of day for locations, with enthusiasm and unmatched energy. His trips are also great fun, and most of the people that I’ve met on the trips that I’ve done have been repeat clients, which speaks for itself.
If you like travelling in small groups to amazing places with like minded people who are as passionate as you about taking photos, then Pixelchrome Photo Tours are to be considered. I was recommended to Jeremy by another professional photographer, and have now had the experience of 4 fabulous trips with him and his co-leaders, and am in the process of booking more. Jeremy also offers scouting trips which are a fantastic way of joining a small group, be involved in the process of scouting, which is itself fun, educational and spontaneous. I’ve done a couple of these, both in Sicily, which were excellent, and will be looking out to see where he is going next.
If you prefer a more planned approach, then there is comfort in the fact that his trips have in fact been previously scouted and meticulously planned. There’s still room for spontaneity though, if the light changes or if opportunity arises. The co-leaders that I have met have been fantastic, enthusiastic, great fun, and helpful…Emphasis of trips has been on maximising shooting time, but there has been opportunity for image review, some post processing, and a glass of wine. In fact, one of the extensions to a trip in Sicily was to Umbria, with optional cooking classes…true cultural immersion!
Every time there is a new newsletter, different and exotic locations or cultural events appear for the next year. I just wish there was more room in my diary!
I highly recommend Jeremy as a professional, interested, fun and enthusiastic leader, who works alongside photographers and guides who share his passion and provide local knowledge and language – Chris R, Melbourne, Australia
There are going to be times when we can't wait for somebody. Now, you're either on the bus or off the bus. If you're on the bus, and you get left behind, then you'll find it again. If you're off the bus in the first place — then it won't make a damn – As quoted by Tom Wolfe in The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test (1968)
I thought Jeremy was just wonderful. He is a nice guy and I like his approach to travel. I also liked that he was never "in" for the day. He always had some "go out trips" it allowed him to naturally break us into smaller groups. I am a better photographer because of his suggestions and critique. I hope to travel with him again – Jeff O, CA
I have traveled with Jeremy numerous times over the last several years and always with great pleasure. He is an extraordinary photographer, full of energy, inspirational and always ready to offer help. If you’re a photographer who is reasonably fit, willing and able to get moving before sunrise and photograph through evening blue light, recognize that not everything when traveling may go as planned or as you might like, easy to get along with and pleasant to be with, these adventuresome trips may just be your your cup of tea – Sandy F, WA
I've traveled to Sicily and Croatia with Jeremy. I enjoyed the trips so much I've signed up for more trips with him. Really happy with my photos from these trips. There was a lot of effort put into finding really good photo ops, and best of all, he's a lot of fun to travel with – Robert D, Toronto
I had the most unforgettable time with Jeremy in the Omo River Valley, Ethiopia. It was my first time traveling with him and just the beginning of many more trips. Jeremy is an amazing photographer. He has more energy and more creativity then any other instructor I have traveled with. I will never look at a puddle in the same way again! Jeremy is a wonderful teacher, so inclusive to all around him, and I am happy to be one of his groupies! — Michele Z, CA
I have only traveled with three other photo leaders and you are my total fav! I hope George and I can catch you on another trip soon – Marti C, CA
When asked what make a great photography leader I think of Jeremy Woodhouse. He is an excellent teacher and mentor, has a great eye and knows what makes a great image, is a talented photographer and has the ability to work with people of all skill levels. He is extremely generous with his time and fully devoted to helping the people on the trip get great shots. His ability to set up shots is unique. Whether positioning subjects on a hill at sunset for shadow shots or moving them under a door frame in midday sun to optimize the light, Jeremy helps get the shot. His high energy level and love of photography is evident to all on his trips and he sets the tone for the trip. He is patient with his clients, lots of fun to travel with, and has great people skills. His in-the-field guidance, post production help and photo critiques makes him the photo leader you want to be with on a photography tour.” — Herb Leventon, Epic Photo Tours
I’d always wanted to go to Cuba, especially on a trip dedicated to photography. I’d never traveled with Jeremy and Holly before, but their trips came well recommended. I wasn’t disappointed. We had a great time, and I thought that splitting the time between three quite different cities was brilliant. I wouldn’t have had the same impression of the country if we had spent all of our time in Havana. On the strength of my experience in Cuba, I will be joining Jeremy and some of my fellow Cuba travelers on a trip to Laddakh in June” — Ellen C, CA
Jeremy and Holly went out of their way to provide a comprehensive and informative Cuba experience including three planned shoots of the ballet practice in Havana and a dance troupe and car wash in a river in Trinidad. The Cubans are delightful and afforded many photo ops” — Suzanne B, CA
What a fabulous trip. There was music everywhere. The Cuban people were outgoing and friendly. Many invited us into their homes. They were always willing to pose for us with patience and a sense of humor. The photography was marvelous. I've rarely come home from a trip with so many winning photographhs. Thanks Jeremy for making it happen." — Judy H, PA
What can I say? It was one of the best trip I've had. People, cityscape, colors, fellow travelers, superb food, and especially following 'your always seeing eyes.' I learned that I am blind to what you see. I know it takes years developing 'skills or intuitions' but I really have to focus on it – Jae M, VA
